Lionel 313-28 Bascule Bridge Rotating Member (Arm) - The 313-28 rotating member as Lionel referred to it in its drawings, more commonly known as a crank arm, is fastened to the output shaft of the gear box and locked into place with a set screw. The connecting rod is then fastened to the rotating member (arm) using a special shoulder screw. At the end of this arm is a small fiber pin. If this pin is missing your bridge will not function. If you somehow obtained one of the reproduction arms, they usually have a steel pin at the end, which will cause a short when it strikes the contacts in the bridge base. We have original prewar as well as postwar versions of this crank arm. The prewar version uses a shoulder screw with a 4-36 thread, while the postwar version used a shoulder screw with a 6-32 thread. If you are replacing your crank arm only, then specify which thread size you need.
