Lionel 165-7 Crane Cab Decal - The 165-7 decal is not something Lionel made, as the number and letter on the 165 crane cab was rubber stamped onto the cab. Customers have asked us to come up with a solution for restoring these crane cabs and the lettering and we determined that a water slide decal is the best solution. Of course if you were working with a cab that was completely square and the surface was entirely flat, the most authentic method would be rubber stamping the cab. Unfortunately most cabs are neither straight or square. The 165-7 part number was assigned by us, not Lionel! When you receive the decal, you will see that it is a one piece water slide decal of black lettering on a clear background. You will need to cut apart the top portion (the circled L) from the lower portion to work around the hole in the cab for the hand wheel shaft. Make sure the surface is clean before applying the decal. Wet the surface of the cab, then soak the decal for 15 seconds and slide the pieces into place. Be careful not to tear the decal.
