Lionel 671-113 Insulating Plate (Nameplate- No Lettering) - The 671-113 insulating plate, often referred to as a nameplate but without lettering, first appeared on Lionel's 671 Turbine in 1949 when Lionel redesigned the collector assemblies for some of their locomotives. Early in production, Lionel imprinted their name on these insulating plates and later in production omitted it and changed the part number. The plate shown is without the printing. If you need the plate with the printing, order part number 671-158. The insulating plate is designed to be used in conjunction with two 671-112 insulating bushings. This plate prevents the underside of the head of the collector mounting screws from touching the collector assembly thereby causing a short to ground. Both the 671-113 and 571-158 insulating plates must be used in conjunction with two (2) 671-112 insulating bushings. In a pinch you can use an insulating washer under the head of each screw in place of the insulating plate. (Updated 9/15/2016)
